The required coursework covers foundations: measurement, assessment basics, skill acquisition, behavior reduction, and ethics. Real sessions add pace, communication with BCBAs, caregiver questions, and the everyday judgment calls that no video module can fully simulate. That gap is normal. Good clinics plan for it instead of pretending it does not exist.
What support looks like in your first months
